So why don't you pay back the debt you owe the taxpayers, and then once you start making a profit put your money where your mouth is. Or better yet, since I doubt you are working for nothing, put your own money towards education. Write a check. Come on it's no harder than asking for other people's tax dollars to cover your dreams.

If this speech given by General Motors North American president Mark Reuss is an example of the thinking of GM's leadership, then GM is in deep trouble once again.

Government Motors has already proved their leadership in the Electric Vehicle with the Volt. What they are attempting to do is have other companies and the public accept failure as a standard.

I will pass on electric cars, thank you. But, if you want to offer a LNG fueled vehicle and there are refueling stations, that I will consider.

Remember, the US government owns a significant percentage of that company.

EVs are not yet ready for prime time. More development is needed, including better batteries and a battery-exchange program instead of slow recharging stations. Battery exchange could be done in the time it takes to pump gas. And they make no sense unless the electricity comes from solar or other renewable source. What’s the point of burning coal to drive your car?

Fix the fundamental physics problem: Energy storage density.
Not soon if ever.
EV's are not practical. They work but fall short compared to fuels.

It's time to bring down the price of electric cars and make EVs reasonable and available to all of us. -- Not to just the richest among us who can afford today's current high price.
