I agree, Especially that Nuke should not be build anywhere near a fault line. Just look a the mess in Japan.
As for Alternatives, The pic shows that I have both wind and solar. Today I am running the fridge, freezer, crock pot and this computer; all on solar power.

Hi Buddy, You missed the entire point of my post. Yes, we need to conserve, but I was saying that besides this Nuke plant going off line, there are an additional 200+ coal plants going off line over the next two years. All these closings will create a massive shortage, in the near future.

They are closing a coal plant (just 3 miles from here). One of their reasons is, "there is a surplus of power available to buy. The problem is When 200+ plants go down, that surplus is going to go away.
